In recent years, the term "Lowrider Soul" has become increasingly heard in Japan.
Given that it has taken on a life of its own as a musical genre,
I was contemplating what to do when I received this offer.
As a minority who loves this minority culture,
I never imagined I would have such an opportunity.
I am purely grateful.
It is said that with the spread of social media, information about other cultures has become more accessible,
but whether that information is authentic cannot be known without seeing it with your own eyes and feeling it with your own skin.

Sharing these feelings evoked by listening to Nina's selection of 45s with those present brings a sense of salvation.
My simple curiosity about how Nina's DJing came to be was the impetus for this zine. The result was a conversation that far exceeded my expectations. I hope you will read it as an excellent antidote to the endless torrent of information overload.
Once, when we were still only acquaintances, I asked Nina how to find good records without any prior knowledge. I was so delighted to realize that her judgment criteria were exactly the same as mine, though it was presumptuous of me to ask. I will deliberately omit that method here. I believe the joy of being stuck, pondering, imagining, and arriving at an answer (or what seems to be one) through trial and error is a significant element of this culture.
